I am not sure if you are aware of this, however, it looks like Global Responses no longer work in the Live Chat Client. When you chose one it does not display anything in the operator or client side.
Operator side canned response continue to work.
Also, the new initiate chat does not appear to pop up anything on the website when it is initiated to the visitor.
If you are using the hosted version of JLive! Chat at the UltimateLiveChat.com, then you might be experiencing the issue you reported because we have also updated the HTML integration code.
If you are using the hosted version, can you please re-copy and paste the integration HTML code listed on the download page of UltimateLiveChat.com?

Please note, that in order for the operator initiated chat session to popup on the visitor's screen, you have to send a message to the visitor first. Only clicking the "Initiate Chat" button won't automatically open a livechat window on the visitor's screen.
