TOPIC: Issue uploading key

Issue uploading key 2 Years, 4 Months ago Karma: 0
Hello John,

I've just tested your version locally.

First install I had this error :

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in F:jtestlibrariesjoomladatabasedatabasemysql.php on line 678

I generate a "test" key, then launch Jadmin.exe, while selecting the .jkf file, double click, stay on the "define your joomla key" window...

Tried to uninstal, reinstall, no more error message, but same issue.

I've tested on a hosted online website, same issue.(first same error on instal, but all seems fine, then couldn't add the jkf file)

Do you have any clue why this is happening ?

If I left blank IP field into component, does that mean everybody can access or nobody ? (tried 127.0.0.1 as well, localhost was not saving, tried my local 192.168.0.1, same result...)

Thanks !

Hi Crony,

We are aware of the .jkf file issue and have fixed this issue in the next release of JAdmin!, however the next version won't be released until a couple weeks from now, so in the meanwhile what you can do is either change the file type selector on the bottom of the "Define your joomla key window", or rename the joomla key file to have the extension of .jkf.txt

You can also try downloading your key file using a different web browser as well, since different browsers will download the key file different on the version you are using. Again, this is an issue that we are aware of and have fixed it in the next version of JAdmin!

If you leave the IP restrict field blank, then it will not IP restrict incoming connections.

Regarding the issues you are experiencing; we are aware of these issues and have corrected them in the next release of JAdmin!, however the next release is still in development, so I would say to ignore them for now and try to add your joomla key file into the JAdmin! desktop application and you should be all set.

Best regards,

John

Dear John,

Sorry but even with .jkf.txt file renamed, same problem. May I do something else to pass thru this ?

I'm very excited and will be patient about your next release.

Thanks !

Hi Crony,

We have created a new JAdmin! component that corrects this issue for now until the new version of JAdmin! is released. Please uninstall the JAdmin! component you have installed now and then download and install the following new component:

After installing the new component, re-download your key file and then add it to your JAdmin! desktop application.

Best Regards,

John

Hi John,

Sorry, but same problem...

I've compared the 2 versions of the components, but there's no differences at all. Maybe there was an error with the link ?

I tried to open license.pyc with notepad++

Unsuccessfuly of course to paste the key somewhere...

I Did my test locally and on a hosted website, same issue.

Maybe a Jadmin.exe demo related issue ?

Thanks !

Hi Crony,

Sorry to hear that. There is a very small difference from the last component, probably not noticeable to the unfamiliar eye. Sometimes our download server caches files, so you may have downloaded the same file again. After downloading the new component you can check to see if it is indeed the new file by checking the md5 checksum of the file and ensuring it is equal to:

You can check the md5 checksum of a file on windows by using a software like Fastsum available here:

Here is the link again if you wish to try the download again:

Have you tried renaming the extension of the key file to .jkf.txt and changing the file selector on the "define your key window"? I have attached a screenshot of where the file selector is located on the "define your key window"
